There are some changes headed to your favorite Marvel Comics. Change sometimes causes some concern but often can be a good thing.
Marvel has released a teaser video and press release with just the following info:
New Creative Teams
Make Mine Marvel!
It all starts today…
Check out the video to hear what they have to say.
We already know that Dan Slott is leaving Amazing Spider-Man after ten years and will take over Iron Man. Slott told some great stories over the years, but you can see, on his social media channels, despite his love for the character, even he is excited to move on to a different character. New “jumping on points” are always good for new readers as well.
What’s most intriguing about the image above is the new “look” for Thor.
He’s upgrading his arm to a gold one, and what’s up with Mjolnir?
Captain America is included in the image. Hopefully this doesn’t mean Mark Waid and Chris Samnee are leaving the title already, or do they consider them a change from the previous creators? Is Charles Soule leaving Daredevil? Some of this may have already been revealed in the advanced solicitations, but I try to skip them to avoid spoilers.
It’s unfortunate Kate Bishop and Clint Barton aren’t shown. I have my fingers crossed we’ll get a Hawkeyes title by Kelly Thompson and Leonardo Romero since the current series is ending.
What do you think about the idea of change across all or most titles?
IGN has the exclusive on Jason Aaron and Ed McGuinness taking over Avengers. This series will feature a new #1, but apparently some titles will still retain their legacy numbering that just returned last year.
This will be the only Avengers title and will ship 18 times a year. The roster consists of Captain America, Iron Man, Thor Odinson, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Hulk (Jennifer Walters), Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes), and Doctor Strange (on a “rotating basis”).
