What time is it?
Looks like it will soon be Adventure Time once again…sort of. Adventure Time is coming back with a focus on Fionna the Human and Cake the Cat, alternate versions of Finn and Jake. Fans of the original Adventure Time are more than familiar with the duo.
Max released a sneak peek for the show yesterday.
As you can see, things have changed. Time has passed, as it has with the original Adventure Time characters. (If you’ve watched Adventure Time: Distant Lands, you’ve seen the “adult” version of Finn).
Fionna and Cake’s world seems to be lacking in the magic and adventure. Obviously with the word “Adventure” as part of the title, that will soon be rectified.
At San Diego Comic-Con, while the voice actors were unable to attend, we were able to get some answers from Showrunner Adam Muto and Supervising Director Ryann Shannon.
Adventure Time: Fionna And Cake begins on Max on August 31, 2023. It was also announced at Comic-Con that Rebecca Sugar and other songwriters from the original series will be returning to develop more music for this show. It’ll be nice to have half-hour episodes compared to the 11-minute ones.
