Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft Teaser & Date Announcement

It’s been a while since we’ve had a Tomb Raider/Lara Croft movie. I believe the last one was released in 2018. There was meant to be a sequel but various delays and issues with rights have slowed things down.

Thankfully, we have an animated series to look forward to.

Netflix has released a teaser trailer along with the date announcement for the upcoming series: Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft.

The series picks up after the Tomb Raider video game Survivor trilogy: Tomb Raider, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

Following the events of the Survivor series, Lara Croft has abandoned her friends to embark on increasingly more perilous solo adventures. But she must return home when a dangerous and powerful Chinese artifact is stolen from Croft Manor by a thief with an uncanny personal connection. Her daring pursuit will take her on an adventure around the world and to the depths of forgotten tombs, where she will be forced to confront her true self, and decide just what kind of hero she wants to become.

Lara will be voiced by Hayley Atwell. Allen Maldonado voices Zip. Earl Baylon will reprise his role as Jonah from Tomb Raider video games. Additional voices will be announced.

It doesn’t appear as if the number of episodes has been released so far. You will be able to stream the entire series on Netflix on October 10, 2024.
