SDCC 2025: Aliens Vs Captain America Announced

Captain America has often been see as the premier hero of the Marvel Universe. He’s usually the guy that can beat all odds. The Super Soldier Serum combined with Cap’s inborn nature to lead, ability to form strategic plans on the fly, and one of the biggest hearts in the Marvel Universe have made him the hero most of us love to this day.

So what happens when Cap has to deal with some Xenomorphs?

Earlier at San Diego Comic-Con, during the Retailer’s Panel, it was announced that the next crossover between Marvel and the Aliens franchise begins this November. The four-issue Aliens Vs. Captain America will be written by Frank Tieri with art by Stefano Rafraele.

Taking place during Captain America’s adventures during World War II, a less experienced Steve Rogers will face off against the deadly Xenomorphs. How exactly will this happen?

It’s World War II and Hydra seeks a new weapon to defeat the Allies and win the war. To that end, the Red Skull has sent Baron Strucker on an expedition to the Himalayas to find the fabled city of Attilan. But instead of finding the Inhumans, Strucker uncovers something much more deadly. Much more… Alien. Can Captain America and the Howling Commandoes stop the Skull and his newfound xenomorph weapons… or will the First Avenger learn that in war-torn Europe… no one can hear you scream?

Here’s what Frank Tieri had to say:

Ya know, sometimes a project comes along and you just have to pinch yourself that you get to be involved with it. I mean, here you have two of the most iconic properties in entertainment—Captain America, who is basically the ultimate hero, going against Alien, one of the ultimate names in horror. As a writer, what more can you ask for than that? Now I pitched this knowing I wanted it to be a period piece with WW2 as the backdrop because I knew it would give me so many fun elements to play with… Cap vs the Red Skull, Baron Strucker in the Himalayas looking for Attilan, Bucky interacting with the Howling commandos, Hydra using the Xenomorphs as weapons, etc. We’ve got all that in the and more as fans can expect a nice mix of horror and heroics… and more than a few surprises thrown in for good measure.

Captain America can handle a lot but he just might have his hands full here. Let’s not forget that while he was still extremely skilled back then, because of the time period, Cap simply has less experience than we’re used to seeing. In modern comics, he’s been across the galaxy and has fought all sorts of enemies, which includes Earth-bound ones and other types of aliens. Will he be ready for these Aliens?

We’ll find out when the first issue goes on sale November 5, 2025.
