It’s Unwrapping Time!
This time we’re looking at the new deluxe limited edition verison of Mark Hoppus’ (from blink-182) memoir, Fahrenheit-182.
The memoir was first released on April 25, 2025. Now, less than a year later, we have a deluxe limited edition version. While obviously pricier than the first edition, it contains a lot more content. There is a second book contain nothing but photos. There are way more photos than in the first version, and this time they are all in color. There are loads of photos of Mark as a kid and throughout the years of blink-182’s career.
You also get some extras like a signed photograph and guitar/bass pick. Check it all out.
As much as I love Mark and blink, I was super reluctant to pre-order this. I paid around $150 with shipping and tax. It’s a crazy idea to release a “deluxe edition” of a book, less than a year after the original release date. Deluxe editions seem to be the latest crazy with bands. They release an album and then it’s, “Oh wait, we have more. Now you get to buy the same songs plus some new stuff.” This is basically the same thing.
There are some cool editions. Obviously you have to be a big fan, a nut, or both, to double dip with this. I don’t have any regrets in buying this. I’m just not crazy about this idea as being the new norm.
Let me know what you think.
