The coolest comic book art you won’t see in comics.
The reason you won’t see this art in comics is because artists often draw sketches, warm-ups, and commissions and post them on their Tumblrs, blogs, and Twitter. Some artists even arrange commissions through their sites so be sure to check them out to stay up to date with what they have going on.
Here’s a collection of some of the art I recently came across. Click to enlarge.
Todd Nauck honored Jack Kirby’s 100th birthday by posting a drawing of Medusa on his Tumblr.
Joe Infurnari also celebrating Kirby by posting a drawing of the King on his Tumblr.
Terry Dodson posted a couple sketches from San Diego Comic-Con on his Deviant Art page.
Ryan Ottley posted commissions from Boston Comic Con on his Tumblr.
Tom Raney posted a sketch of Hulk for Jack Kirby’s birthday along with other new sketches on his Twitter.
Chris Samnee posted new sketches on his Instagram.
Dustin Nguyen has new art on his Instagram page.
Gabriel Hardman is posting some early commissions for New York Comic Con on his Twitter. Check out the amazing Twin Peaks art! (Note: Batman does not appear in Twin Peaks).
Chrissie Zullo posted some recent Harley Quinn commissions on her Facebook page.
Denis Medri has new sketches on his Deviant Art page.
Michael Walsh posted new art on his Tumblr including some rough sketches for his upcoming Spider-Man issue.
Ryan Lee has been posting new sketches on his Twitter.
Marcio Takara posted a commission and some warm-up sketches on his Tumblr.
Mike Henderson posted some new art on his Instagram.
Jim Cheung posted recent commissions on his Instagram.
Skottie Young posted more Daily Sketches on his Tumblr.
That’s it for this week. Let me know what you think of all the art.
And if you can:
Awesome stuff!
Any chance we might get a Best Stuff In Comics someday soon?
That would be awesome.
I’ve been sorta doing it via Instagram. https://www.instagram.com/beststuffincomics/
Ohh!
Still would be cool to have it here on the site weekly, but hell, totally gonna follow that!
