This past weekend in Anaheim, WonderCon took place and Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD were present. If you watched last week’s episode, you know some crazy and intense things happened. This was discussed with the actors and producers of the show. They were also asked what we could expect from the rest of the season as well as when we might hear whether or not the show will be renewed for a sixth season.
Check out the interviews below. Note: there will be minor spoilers for Agents of SHIELD Season 5.
Iain De Caestecker and Elizabeth Henstridge
The two were asked about Fitz and Evil Fitz, wearing wedding rings, being grandparents, going on a honeymoon, the double Fitz time paradox, and what Evil Simmons would wear.
Maurissa Tancharoen, Jed Whedon, and Jeffrey Bell
The producers were asked about the two Fitz’s onscreen, taking the show into the future, using the Kree alphabet in the background of episodes, what we can expect in the rest of the season, and whether or not Coulson will appear in future Marvel films, such as Avengers: Infinity War.
Ming-Na Wen and Jeph Loeb
Because Jeph is the Head of Marvel Television, he was asked, straight out, when we could expect to hear whether or not the show is returning for a sixth season. Ming-Na was also asked about her future self’s time with Robin and whether or not she’d try to check up on her in the present, who would be the leader if something happens to Coulson, and will we ever see the end of HYDRA?
Natalia Cordova-Buckley and Henry Simmons
Natalia was asked how it was playing Yo-Yo in her new condition. Henry was asked about being overprotective and whether or not he’s given the shotgun axe a name. The two also discussed spilling secrets from the set, the character Flint from the future, and how tense things will get between the two characters in the rest of the season.
Jeff Ward and Chloe Bennet
Chloe Bennet was asked about her dogs, and she wanted to clarify the comments she’s received about favoring one over the other on her Instagram. She also discussed getting her powers back on the show, and Jeff talked about how Chloe is at stunt fighting. You can also find out what Jeff does while Chloe is doing her stunts.
Will Deke and Daisy get together? You need to see Chloe’s facial expression to this question. Jeff also discussed why Zima played such a big role for his character.
The panel mainly focused on Q&A from the audience. Chloe called Coulson, who made a video message for the audience since he couldn’t be there. He returned Chloe’s call by Facetiming. Chloe quickly ended the call in case she got “a weird text” on her phone since the camera was zoomed in on it.
Because so much time was spent on audience questions, there wasn’t enough time to show the entire next episode. Instead, the ending was shown. No spoilers here. You’ll have to come back Friday at 10 pm EST/7 pm PST to find out what happened and my thoughts.
