There’s a strange thing happening in comics these days–characters are actually getting married. We’ve seen characters tie the knot before only to slowly see the marriages retconned.
You’ve likely heard the news about Batman and Catwoman getting ready to tie the knot. We’ve also been seeing the issues leading up to the marriage between Kitty Pryde and Colossus. In a typical X-Men fashion, the unexpected sometimes happens.

If you’ve been reading X-Men Gold, you may have noticed at the end of last issue it said, “Next: A Wedding.” This is something I brought up on the Random Podcast From Heck. The emphasis on “A” instead of “The” made it seem as if someone else would be getting married.
Details for the series listed in Previews as X-Classified have been revealed. Kelly Thompson (Hawkeye, Rogue and Gambit) and Oscar Bazaldua (Spider-Man, Star Wars: Rogue One) will be working on a new series featuring Gambit and Rogue.

While it’s unfortunate what happened in X-Men Gold #30 (you’ll have to read it for yourself to see what happened), Gambit and Rogue have a lot of history. Thompson’s recent miniseries with the two had them go through a lot together. They deserve some happiness. Thompson is the perfect choice for this series.
