Today at New York Comic Con, Netflix finally revealed some news about the second season of Lost in Space. I was starting to get worried it wasn’t going to happen, even though it had already been announced.
As you can see on the poster released, the show returns with ten hour-long episodes on December 24. Just in time for the holidays.

If you recall, things didn’t end too well for the Robinsons, and Will is left wondering what happened to Robot. Here’s the official synopsis for the season:
There’s more danger — and adventure — ahead for the Robinson family! With the Jupiter 2 stranded on a mysterious ocean planet without their beloved Robot, the Robinsons must work together, alongside the mischievous and manipulative Dr. Smith and the always charming Don West, to make it back to the Resolute and reunite with the other colonists. But they quickly find all is not as it seems. A series of incredible new threats and unexpected discoveries emerge as they look for the key to finding Robot and safe passage to Alpha Centauri. They will stop at nothing to keep their family safe… survival is a Robinson specialty after all.
If that’s not enough, how about a new trailer?
I did enjoy the first season. There is a little nostalgia on my part. I watched reruns of the original show growing up. I don’t mind the reboot here as it presents the characters for a new generation with updated special effects. I’m looking forward to the new season.
Here are a few stills Netflix also made available.
