Superboy (Jonathan Kent) has joined the Legion of Super-Heroes. In order for this to happen, writer Brian Michael Bendis created story elements in which Jonathan aged a few years to become a teen. One result of this was the apparent demise of the Super Sons (Jonathan and Damian Wayne).
But wait, what’s going on with the cover of Legion of Super-Heroes #3? Is that who we think it is holding an R-branded batarang?

It sure looks like it could be Damian holding a batarang on the cover, but how could this happen?
DC Comics sent out a “first look” at the issue. While the early pages themselves don’t reveal the identity of the person holding the batarang or explain how this might happen, a key panel was also included.

That sure appears to be Damian.
As for the rest of the issue, there will be a top-secret mission to Planet Gotham along with a trip to Rimbor, the home planet of Ultra Boy, and Monster Boy is apparently on the loose.

The issue is written by Brian Michael Bendis. The art is by Ryan Sook and Travis Moore with inks by Wade von Grawbadger and Travis Moore. Jordie Bellaire provides the colors (obviously not seen here).
The issue is on sale January 15, 2020.
