It’s finally happening. Our patience is about to pay off. Geoff Johns teased the idea of Three Jokers back in 2016 during his Justice League: Darkseid War story arc as well in DC Comics: Rebirth #1.
Back in Justice League #42 (July 2015), Batman, tested the Mobius chair’s ability to answer any question by asking what was the Joker’s real name. He was startled by the response. Later in Justice League #50, Hal Jordan asked him what the Joker’s name was.

Batman replied that the chair told him there were three Jokers. He didn’t know what this meant, bu the was determined to find out. Looks like he’s finally setting out to solve the mystery.
Geoff Johns and Jason Fabok have been working on Batman: Three Jokers for some time. Fabok has offered some teases on his Instagram, and the idea was to wait until the project was finished before announcing the release date. This way there wouldn’t be any delays during the release. The first issue of a three-part miniseries goes on sale in June 2020.

In an interview with EW, it’s mentioned the story will explore the answer to “Who are the three Jokers?” along with the impact that answer could have on other characters such as Barbara Gordon and Jason Todd. The story will go back to Batman’s first encounter with Joker and touch on elements of A Death in the Family and The Killing Joke.
Fabok also stated the influence of Brian Bolland’s art in The Killing Joke will be evident. Fabok will utilize similar panels and items seen in the Batcave. DC has also released some preview pages for the first issue.
Batman: Three Jokers #1 is on sale June 17, 2020. Each issue will be 48 pages and released under DC’s Black Label imprint with a 17+ age recommendation. The series is written by Geoff Johns with Jason Fabok on art, Brad Anderson on colors, and lettered by Rob Lee.
