It’s Unwrapping Time!
This week we’re checking out the box set for Stranger Things – The Complete Series. This is the 4K version from Arrow Video. There is also a regular Blu-ray set for like $15 less. There is also a deluxe edition for around $35 more with some art cards and other extra booklet type stuff. I obviously went with the regular set.
Some of you may be wondering why anyone would buy this when they can just watch it on Netflix. There’s basically two reasons. The first is you never know if it will always be on Netflix. I mention in the video a show like Westworld was made for HBO and now it’s been sold off to who knows where. So physical media matters.
The second reason is this is in 4K. Sure, you can upgrade your Netflix account to the “4K” version. That just adds more to your monthly cost. And while I may not be a complete expert, you’re not exactly watching it in full 4K. It depends on your TV and, more importantly, your internet connection.
Check out the video to see what it all looks like. And note: the individual seasons do have reversible covers, which I kind of forgot but included an image for them. Arrow Video often does this.
