Netflix did a great job with their recent Lost in Space series. The classic sci-fi show saw a movie reboot in 1998, and the series blew away my expectations. (You can hear podcast discussion on the first season here).
While a second season has been announced, the release date hasn’t been revealed just yet. While we’re waiting, we’ll be able to enjoy the Lost in Space: Countdown to Danger four-part series from Legendary Comics.
The comic will flesh out the backstories of the character and tell all-new, untold adventures for the crew of the Jupiter 2. The series will be written by Richard Dinnick (Doctor Who; Thunderbirds) and Brian Buccellato (The Flash; Sons of the Devil) with art by Zid (Skull Island: Birth of Kong; Trick ‘r Treat: Days of the Dead). Along with the Robinsons, we can expect to see Robot, Doctor Smith, and Don West.
Lost in Space executive producers Kevin Burns and Jon Jashni made a great point: “What is exciting about comic books is that they are not limited by budget—only by the imagination. This Lost in Space comic is no exception. Legendary Comics has outdone themselves this time.”
