Details Revealed For Jonathan Hickman’s X-Men

A new era for the X-Men is beginning this summer.

Jonathan Hickman created epic stories within the pages of Fantastic Four, The Avengers, and Infinity, Secret Wars. After spending some time away from Marvel, he is coming back with major plans for the mutants.

From July to September, the current X-Men titles will come to an end. Hickman will be reshaping the mutant world “forever” with House of X and Powers of X.

Talking to Comicbook.com, Hickman revealed his longterm plans.

“We needed to sell the idea that this is what we’re going to be doing for the next few years. We wanted to be clear to the fans, to the stores, and just as importantly, to the creators who are going to be staffing these books in the future. We wanted the message to be very clear: This is a whole new era for the X-Men. This is what we’re doing now.

After the two titles, we’ll have a new X-Universe. Hickman will take on the flagship ongoing X-Men title with other creative teams on different series. More information on these titles will be revealed at San Diego Comic-Con.

Hickman also stated:

House of X, is a story about a pivotal month in the history of the X-Men where everything changes for mutants on Earth. And the other, Powers of X, is a story about the history of mutants in the Marvel Universe.”

Each series will be released on an alternate weekly schedule, starting with House of X, followed by Powers of X. House of X will feature art and covers by Pepe Larra and colors by Marte Gracia. Powers of X will feature art and covers by R.B. Silva with colors Marte Gracia.

Looks like it’s going to be a good time to be an X-Men fan.
