The great thing about comic books is there’s pretty much something for everyone. Although, at the same time, not every book is meant for every ready. DC has sent out a “first look” at the upcoming Far Sector series involving a new Green Lantern.
Far Sector features the comic book debut by N.K. Jemisin, the award-winning author of The Broken Earth and Inheritance science fiction trilogies. Joining Jemisin is Jamal Campbell ( Naomi). The two will take readers to the other side of the DC Universe.
What exactly is Far Sector about? Here’s what DC’s press release has to say:
For the past six months, newly chosen Green Lantern Sojourner “Jo” Mullein has been protecting the City Enduring, a massive metropolis of 20 billion people. The city has maintained peace for over 500 years by stripping its citizens of their ability to feel. As a result, violent crime is virtually unheard of, and murder is nonexistent.
This is a chance for readers to get in on the ground floor. You won’t necessarily have to worry about what is currently happening in other Green Lantern titles. Also, being part of DC’s Young Animal imprint, it sets the book apart from others. This will be a “Mature Readers” (17+) title.
