It’s a great time to be a fan of Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman. At Netflix’s TUDUM global fan event, a clip from the upcoming show was unveiled along with some character posters for Dream, Death, and Desire.
If you’ve read the comic or listened to the audio adaptation on Audible, you’ll find this first clip is very true to the source.
The official synopsis is:
A rich blend of modern myth and dark fantasy in which contemporary fiction, historical drama and legend are seamlessly interwoven, The Sandman follows the people and places affected by Morpheus, the Dream King, as he mends the cosmic–and human–mistakes he’s made during his vast existence.
Here are the character posters of Tom Sturridge as Dream, Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Death, and Mason Alexander Park as Desire.
The series is Executive Produced by Neil Gaiman, Allan Heinberg, & David S. Goyer. A release date hasn’t been announced yet, but you’ll be able to watch it here when it’s released and can set a reminder.
