Get ready to make an appointment with “Dr. Jones” this winter.
At San Diego Comic-Con, during the Lucasfilm Publishing Panel, current and outgoing Marvel Editor-in-Chief announced the return of Indiana Jones at Marvel Comics.
Indiana Jones and the Sword of Pandemonium is set to be an all-new five-issue limited series written by Jasson Aaron with art by Aaron Kuder.

The story takes place shortly after Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indy will be facing familiar villains along with the “the impossible return of an archenemy.” They will be seeking a new source of power to recoup their losses, which has come into the possession of Marion Ravenwood. Indiana Jones will be traveling the world in search of a “biblical weapon” that will put him to the test.

Jason Aaron said the following:
“I’ve wanted to adventure alongside Indiana Jones since I was 8 years old, to climb through ancient crypts and run for my life in exotic locales, to seek the world’s most fabled treasures. Now here I am, feeling the same sort of joy I felt in 2015, when we launched Star Wars #1. This is the Indy of Raiders of the Lost Ark, fresh off his harrowing experience on the island of Geheimhaven. Dark events were set in motion that day, strange new enemies have risen from the shadows, and for Indy and Marion Ravenwood the globe-trotting, punching, whip-cracking, and death-defying escapades, not to mention the archaeology, have just begun.”
Aaron Kuder said the following:
“I’m very excited to be on this book with Jason Aaron. Indy has always felt like he should be a staple of a comic book character.”

Marvel previously announced deluxe hardcovers Indiana Jones: The Further Adventures Book I and Indiana Jones: The Further Adventures Book II, collecting the character’s 1980s Marvel Comics sagas, coming in September.
More covers will be revealed along with a special variant cover program for retailers. Indiana Jones and the Sword of Pandemonium #1 is on sale December 9, 2026.
