Marvel Legacy #1 is out, and there’s been some changes and the return of certain characters. Marvel has stated that with the new Legacy titles, every story is an event. That will indeed be the case in the upcoming Avengers: No Surrender arc.
Beginning in January’s Avengers #675, a weekly story will bring together the creators and characters from Avengers, Uncanny Avengers, and U.S. Avengers.
According to SVP and Executive Editor Tom Brevoort:
“The Earth has been stolen! That’s the kickoff to the wildest AVENGERS epic ever put to paper, a widescreen adventure with a massive cast and an unlimited budget. Avengers past and present will be called upon to cope with a threat spanning out of the pages of MARVEL LEGACY #1. And like that oversized special, there’s a huge character return or two along the way that fans have been asking for—and one that they didn’t even know they wanted!”
No Surrender will feature an appearance from every current Avenger along with Avengers we haven’t even heard of. When Lethal Legion and the Black Order fight across Earth, it’ll be up to the new incarnation of Avengers to put an end to the threat.
Each issue of the 16-part story will be co-written by Mark Waid, Al Ewing and Jim Zub. The art will be by Pepe Larraz for the first month, Kim Jacinto for the second month, and Paco Medina for the third month. Mark Brooks provides the art for the lenticular wrap-around cover for Avengers #675.
