The Story Of The Very First Ghost Rider Will Be Told

There have been a lot of Ghost Riders over the years. For some, Johnny Blaze was their first. For others it was Dan Ketch. Some still consider Carter Slade (Phantom Rider) one of the past Ghost Riders even though he never had a direct connection to the others. 2011 introduced Alejandra Jones for a brief period. We currently have Robbie Reyes as the 1969 Dodge Charger-driving Ghost Rider who is about to become a member of the Avengers. We even have Cosmic Ghost Rider in the future (who is actually Frank “The Punisher” Castle).

Jason Aaron introduced the very first Ghost Rider from 1,000,000 BC as part of the Prehistoric Avengers alongside Odin and others. While this version has had a couple appearances, his full origin hasn’t been told…until now.

Executive Editor Tom Brevoort made the following statement:

“Fans have been intrigued by the Avengers of 1,000,000 BC and the story they represent since Jason first introduced them in the MARVEL LEGACY one-shot last year. So this issue represents the first peeling back of the onion to reveal a little bit more about who they are and what they’re about. And it’s a cool and affecting story all by itself, even if you know nothing about the Avengers of 1MBC.”

The story of the first Ghost Rider will be told in Avengers #7, written by Jason Aaron with art by Sara Pichelli.

This will be our chance to discover more about the Marvel Universe during this prehistoric time period. The self-contained story will be on sale September 5, 2018.
