Last week we saw the debut of Fantastic Four variant covers by Humberto Ramos and Nick Bradshaw. Marvel is seemingly continuing to release more variant covers each week as the August 8 release date approaches.
This variant features art by the one and only Jack Kirby.

It’s always great to see artwork by the original creators. Obviously this is not a new piece of art. Marvel is calling it a “hidden gem,” but it is a piece that has been seen before. I’m not exactly sure when or where it first debuted, but I was able to find an image of the original(?).

It’s pretty interesting to see how the color has been change to give it a more enhanced or modern look. I am curious how this will work as a cover. If this is a gatefold cover, the logo would appear on the back. Perhaps it’ll simply be in portrait mode rather than landscape. Either way, it’s pretty dang cool.
