Old Man Hawkeye Series Announced

If you read the Old Man Logan story arc by Mark Millar and Steve McNiven, you know “old man” Hawkeye played a big role. Logan gave up being a superhero and was trying to live a peaceful life as a pig farmer with his wife and kids. Clint Barton was still friends with Logan and enlisted him to accompany him on a cross-country trip.

In January, we’ll see the return of Barton in a twelve-issue series by New York Daily News writer Ethan Sacks and artist Marco Checchetto.

The story is set 45 years in the future in the dark world where the famous archer must try to avenge his fallen teammates, while he still can.

Chief Creative Officer, Joe Quesada, made the following statement about Ethan Sacks:

“Ethan’s been a journalist for years, and he’s a certified nerd. I’ve known him well over a decade, and I never knew he could write non-fiction until one day, he told me, ‘I wrote this Star Wars one-shot.’ When I find anyone who’s talented, I always hand them to our editors and say, ‘Do not be affected by the fact this is coming from me.’ And everyone loved the Star Wars story and what he had done.”

Variant cover by Steve McNiven.

Sacks will discuss the series during Marvel’s MARVEL LEGACY: X-MEN panel on Friday, October 6 at 6:30pm during this week’s New York Comic Con.
