Mystery Art Challenge – Home Edition: Loki And A Lasso

San Diego Comic-Con was supposed to happen this week. As things still aren’t completely safe from the pandemic, it’s another Comic-Con at Home this year. Normally at conventions, we’d see the Mystery Art Challenge.

The Mystery Art Challenge is where an artist given the challenge of drawing a familiar character with a random object. The character and object weren’t told in advanced. The artist was filmed drawing the concept they came up with. It was up to them to be creative and make the character and object work together. You can check out a couple past examples here and here.

Aaron Laurich is an artist who was also a fan of the videos. He reached out to me again because he wanted me to give him a challenge. The only downside is I wasn’t there to film, but we can still enjoy what he came up with. Previously I challenged him with Joker and a Jump Rope. Before that, it was Finn (from Adventure Time) and a Frankfurter and  Moon Knight and a Meatball sandwhich.

This time it’s Loki themed. Like many of you, we’re missing getting our “Loki Wednesday” fix with the Loki series on Disney+. So how about “Loki and a Lasso”?

With the events of the show, there are obviously many different version of Loki Aaron could’ve gone with. He went with Loki wearing the TVA Variant shirt while also sporting a cowboy hat. Having him trying to lasso Miss Minutes was a cool added bonus.

You can check out Aaron’s art on his Instagram. You can also buy his art at his Etsy store.
